One of my favourite subjects to paint are flowers and trees. Using a variety of media, I try to explore light, colour and texture in florals, and my pieces depicting trees, plants and nature. M y paintings reflect what I love most about nature. |

From seascapes to pastoral churches, my landscapes are as different as vast open spaces and intimate woodland settings. I started painting landscapes in watercolour many years ago, learning from my Mom at the kitchen table, sitting beside her while she painted. Even then, I very much loved the use of colour. I have since done many landscape paintings in acrylic for friends, family and by commission. |

Really, I have the most fun painting portraits. Faces are our first point of contact with people. We can read subtle nuances in the eyes, the cheek, the position of the lip. Capturing the familiarity and the emotion in a face are a challenge and a pleasure. I use pencil, charcoal and acrylic to try to express, not just a moment in time, but the character of the subjects. I include my portraits of animals here, as beloved pets are like family members, with their own style and characteristics. I enjoy painting them in idyllic or specially requested settings. |
